Beyond the Classroom
More Than Just Academic Learning
At Providence, your student enters a vibrant student life beyond the traditional classroom setting.
Lower grades enjoy multiple field trips, fun outdoor events, and after-school offerings, while upper grades participate in social events, school dances, spirited athletic events, and more fostering a sense of community and school spirit among peers.
Additionally, Providence offers a diverse selection of extracurricular activities, including sports teams, theatre, clubs, and community service, allowing students to explore their interests and talents outside of academics.
These engaging opportunities not only provide avenues for personal growth and skill development but also encourage students to form lasting friendships, embrace leadership roles, and cultivate a well-rounded and enriching educational experience.
Take a Field Trip
Students enhance their learning through numerous field trips that offer hands-on learning and cultural experiences - applying their classroom knowledge and create lasting memories. Students will enjoy dozens of field trips to many destinations, particularly during elementary and middle school. These include exploring the Georgia Capitol, Mercedez Benz Stadium, and Georgia Aquarium and attending a play or concert at the Atlanta Symphony or Alliance Theatre, to name a few.
Cheer on the Storm
Attending sporting events at Providence is an exciting experience for students as they come together to cheer on the Storm. The atmosphere and enthusiastic school spirit make these events a highlight of the academic year. Whether it's the exhilaration of a basketball game or the camaraderie of a soccer match, students eagerly support their fellow athletes, creating lasting memories and a strong sense of unity within the school community.
Make Memories at a Social Event
Social events such as the homecoming dance, prom, silent disco, and more provide students with opportunities to come together, make memories, foster friendships, and maybe even show off a few dance moves!
Join an Academic TeamParticipating in spelling bees, math Olympics, or academic teams helps students hone their academic skills in a team setting. Providence students regularly place high in these competitions that challenge students to showcase their knowledge and critical thinking abilities in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Go on an Adventure
Whether it's a ranch in Colorado for the senior trip or a resort-style camp for a spiritual emphasis retreat, off-campus trips create unforgettable moments for students to bond with one another and experience God in new ways.
Embrace a Passion
A diverse array of extracurriculars allows students to do what they love, learn something new, and join other students who want to do the same. From the athletic fields to the stage and places in between, our students can enrich their school life experience and develop their God-given talents.
Find Your Tribe
Unique to middle school, students join one of four tribes - Cyclone, Fire, Ice, or Lightning - which provides an instant community where they engage in friendly competition, enjoying various activities, and vie for the top prize by accumulating points through acts of kindness and service.
See the World
Embark on a multi-country European tour or participate in a service trip to Nicaragua. Experiencing international travel broadens the perspective of our students, providing them with firsthand context for the places and cultures they have studied in the classroom.
