What is Providence Next ?
Providence Next is a $2.8 million fundraising campaign that encompasses a number of projects focused on enhancing the student experience, improving the functionality and appearance of our school, and preparing us for future growth. We invite you to carefully review the items below. Then take a moment to prayerfully consider how you can give as we grow and advance to build a better Providence for our next generation.
As Providence nears its 30th birthday, several areas of the Lilburn campus need renovation due to the wear of constant use. We can tackle many of these projects at once to significantly enhance the appearance and functionality of the school. And for the first time in decades, the Pep Boys (Big 10) property is available for us to purchase. The owner is willing to sell the property to Providence at a very favorable price. Combining all of this into one campaign means that we can accomplish several significant projects while being good stewards of our resources.
Thanks to the generosity of initial donors and our entire board of directors, we have already received $2,040,000 of the $2,800,000 million goal.
How Can I Give?
Here Is What Providence Next Funds...
Purchase Pep Boys (formerly known as “Big 10”) Property
Acquire (finally!) this property along Lawrenceville Highway, demolish the existing structure and landscape the grounds to improve our frontage and create a space for future construction.
Create a safe walkway from the high school building and parking lots to the athletic facilities. This will separate cars from students and other fans going to practices and games.
New Classroom Furniture
Replace the 27- year-old desks in the middle school and high school with furniture that can quickly be rearranged into learning circles, rows, and/or one-to-one configurations for better learning environments.
Renovate the Middle School Hallway
Install new carpet, molding and paint in the hallway, replace old lockers with new, larger ones, and build a storage closet for band instruments and sports bags.
Remodel the High School Media Center
Create a more inviting first impression and vibrant study and event space, as well as replace dated furniture.
Enhance the sustainability of Providence, by establishing a scholarship and staff compensation fund.
Build on the successful launch of the special education program that started in August 2018.
Build out a new, larger weight room that can facilitate workouts
for entire teams and better accommodate the needs of our athletic program.
Improve the auxiliary gym floor with a new tiled “sport court” to make it safer and
more appropriate for tournament play and elementary / middle school PE classes.
Renovate High School Auditorium
Replace the carpet, paint, lighting, and add other accents to improve the aesthetics of the room, as well as upgrade audio/visual equipment. Also, create separate storage rooms for chairs, lunch tables, vending machines, and microwaves to create more usable seating and event space in the high school auditorium.
Commons Lighting and Curtains
Update the curtains and lighting in the elementary/middle school commons to enhance events and productions in this multi-use space.
