Theatre
Take the Stage!
The performing arts give cast and crew unique experiences that inspire and challenge in a Christ-centered environment.
Providence theatre spans from elementary through high school. Your student may participate in straight plays, musicals, one-act competitions, Thescon, the Shuler Hensley Awards, and various other performance opportunities.
Academic classes instruct students in acting, directing, design, technical theatre, and administrative responsibilities. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that students are equipped to pursue the performing arts and have the confidence to explore their interests in any capacity they choose.
High School Theatre
In our award-winning theatre department, your student will learn critical techniques such as stage blocking, vocal projection, script reading, and scene critiquing, among others. Drama performances provide an opportunity for students to test and push their limits in front of live audiences. Most importantly, they get to witness the transformative process where the cast and crew evolve into a close-knit family, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork. Our program competes in the One-Act Competition and Shuler Hensley Awards.
Recent productions include, Fiddler on the Roof, Cinderella, Newsies, and Into the Woods.
Middle School Theatre
At Providence, the theater program offers your middle school student an introduction to drama and theatrical essentials. Through interactive, technique-based activities, students develop skills such as public speaking and working collaboratively as part of a cast. These experiences encourage students to explore their creativity, self-expression, innovation, and imagination.
