Discovering the Joy of Making Music

Our music program helps your student glorify God by teaching them to worship Him through music.

Students in every grade level can participate in music at Providence. It's a wonderful way to learn essential musical skills and cultivate a deep appreciation for different genres and styles. Whether vocal or instrumental, your student can enrich their academic journey while developing a life-long passion for music.

Elementary and Middle School Music

Beginning in kindergarten, students have their musical abilities nurtured and honed as they mature. Our goal is to cultivate their talents and reinforce their faith through the joy of music. General Music opportunities are available to elementary and middle school students multiple times per week, and after-school options are available.

In addition, extracurricular musical activities for elementary and middle school students include Chorus and Hosanna. Chorus allows students to develop their voices and Hosanna incorporates xylophones, metallophones, glockenspiels, drums, recorders, and assorted rhythm instruments.

Middle and High School Band

Students in the Providence band program learn, grow, and express their creativity through playing an instrument. It's a close-knit group where they can learn and practice leadership skills, striving for excellence in all  they do while praising God through music.

Our program starts in 5th grade with a beginning band and spans throughout high school, with advancing skill levels and opportunities. Students may participate in Concert Bands, Percussion Ensemble, Drum Line, Pep Bands, District Honor Bands, UGA Honor Bands, and more.

Chorus

Chorus is open to students from 2nd grade to 12th grade as the elementary school, middle school, and high school choral ensembles work to nurture and grow the musical talents of students at all levels. The High School Choral Program provides an environment for your student to excel in vocal and musical abilities. Students strive for excellence in performance while learning the value of ministering to their audience through their hearts, demeanor, and spirit. The program focuses on training students both in musical skills and vocal techniques. Students are challenged through music theory, sight-reading, and sight-singing to enhance their musical abilities further.

Drum Line

The Providence High School Drum Line provides your students with an avenue to explore and perfect percussion instruments while promoting school spirit during events such as football games. The program offers a unique opportunity to learn the discipline of playing and marching, which helps develop essential skills like coordination, timing, teamwork, and focus. Students are exposed to various genres of music and are given opportunities to develop their craft in a fun, team environment.
