The Mission of Providence Christian Academy
is to provide excellence in Christ-centered education as an extension of the Christian home.
The History of Our School
Ever since the opening of the school on Sept. 6, 1991, with 354 students in grades K-12, members of the Providence family expected the hand of God to be at work in our midst.
From our modest beginning of leasing just two thirds of a shopping plaza, our one-building facility has developed into a campus encompassing nine buildings totaling more than 200,000 square feet of indoor space on 35 acres, and an enrollment of over 700 students. Our innovative use of space includes separate facilities for high school, elementary/middle, gymnasiums, and athletic fields. In 2009, Providence purchased 11 acres located behind the current site that has been developed into the Lamar Lussi Athletic Complex complete with a multipurpose soccer/football field, track, six tennis courts and a softball field.
Providence has achieved much more than growth in size and number. From earning accreditation by the Georgia Accrediting Commission, dual accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools/Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS/CASI) and the Association of Christian School International (ACSI), Providence continues to strive toward providing Christian families with excellence in education.
More over, students at Providence have consistently earned state championships for achievements from athletics to science, and numerous fine art accolades from All-State Chorus, Orchestra, and Art, to “Best in Cast,” Shuler Awards and other individual drama awards.
Finally, the school has maintained the vision of its founders. High standards of academic achievement and spiritual growth, opportunities for personal growth through athletics and fine art programs, in addition to moral development through Christian education and community service – all continue to be hallmarks of Providence Christian Academy.
Our Statement of Faith
WE BELIEVE that God is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and the source of all truth.
WE BELIEVE, without reservation, in the verbal plenary inspiration and inerrancy of the original documents of the Holy Scriptures as expressed in the Old and New Testaments and accept whatever they declare to be true as the authority of God Himself speaking therein.
WE BELIEVE that there is one and only one living and true God, and in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit of one substance, power, and eternity.
WE BELIEVE that man was created in the image of God that our first parents were seduced by the temptations of Satan, sinned, and fell. By this fall, all mankind became dead in sin and corrupt in nature. This corruption is transmitted from generation to generation, and therefore man is in need of regeneration and pardoning grace for restoration.
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is God's only begotten Son, the Mediator between God and man, the second person in the Trinity, Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit in the womb of the virgin Mary, and thus possessing two whole, perfect and distinct natures-Godhood and manhood.
WE BELIEVE that Christ died on the cross to make a substitutionary atonement for sinners, was buried, and on the third day He rose from the dead with the same body in which he suffered, with which also He ascended into heaven and there sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for His people, and in the Father's own time will personally return to judge men and angels and to bring in the kingdom of Glory.
WE BELIEVE in the Holy Spirit as the third Person of the Trinity, of the same substance and equal in power and glory with the Father and the Son, to be loved, obeyed, and worshipped, and that He regenerates men by His grace, convicts them of sin, moves them to repentance, persuades and enables them to embrace Christ by faith and unites all believers to Christ.
WE BELIEVE the Gospel of Christ and that there is no other way for salvation.
