After an extensive and prayerful search, the board of directors at Providence Christian Academy is pleased to announce that Dr. Jason Harrison will become our next Head of School. He will officially join our community in the coming months.

We warmly welcome Dr. Harrison and his family to Providence and eagerly anticipate the invaluable experience and leadership he will contribute to this role.

When we announced a nationwide search last winter, the board's primary goal was to be thorough, deliberate, patient, and prayerful in finding a mission-aligned head of school who God would raise up to uphold Providence’s dedication to cultivating maturity in the lives of our students so they can live as strong, healthy, joyful followers of Jesus. After many months of reviewing dozens of quality candidates, the board is confident that Dr. Harrison is that leader.

Dr. Jason Harrison

Dr. Jason Harrison has over two decades of experience in educational leadership, church leadership, and technology leadership. He is an ordained pastor with a doctorate in technology administration and three master’s degrees, one in technology administration, mathematics, and one in homiletics. His undergraduate degree was a dual major in mathematics and computer science, and those are accompanied by a minor in secondary education. Dr. Harrison was also an athlete in high school and college, playing football and wrestling at both levels.

Dr. Harrison is the Executive Pastor of Operations at First Baptist Naples Church/Academy. Previously, he has served as the Head of School for Florida Christian School, the Headmaster/Discipleship Pastor for First Baptist Christian Academy of Palm Coast/First Baptist Church of Palm Coast, the Pastor of Education-Administration and Superintendent of Schools for Island Community Church/Island Christian School, the Director of Technology Solutions for Stambaugh Ness Business Solutions, and the Director of Information Systems and Instructional Technology for Dallastown Area School District.

He was primarily drawn to Providence for our distinct dedication to authentic Christian education while maintaining a high standard of excellence in all that we do. After spending ample time on campus and with our board members, Dr. Harrison and his wife truly feel God is calling them to Providence, and his entire family is excited to join us in the coming months.

Dr. Harrison has been married to his wife Keli since 1996, and they have three sons: Mason (19), Bryson (16), and Tyson (13). Professionally, Keli is the Senior Director of Advertising Support Operations at Sinclair Broadcast Group where she has been employed for over 26 years.

Our board members, particularly those on the search committee, have spent countless hours in this nearly year-long search. Board members are volunteers and fellow Providence parents. We want to thank them for giving their time, energy, and determination to find the leader who was the right fit for Providence.

We are also grateful to our Head of School, Joey Thacker, for continuing his commitment to serve until the transition to new leadership is complete. We look forward to his continued work as the Executive Director of the Prov Foundation, a foundation dedicated to raising funds for tuition aid and an endowment for Providence.

Join us at the State of the School Address at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6th, where you'll have the opportunity to meet and hear from Dr. Harrison. Please join us in giving him and his family a warm welcome and praying for them as they move to Providence.
