Thrive-Campus Life is a club for 5th-7th grade students at Providence. It is designed for students interested in focusing on leadership skills, Bible study, prayer, and fellowship with their peers. 6th and 7th graders may be leaders and are required to meet every Friday in Mrs. Hunter’s room. One week will be for planning and the next week will be for leading the club for 5th -7th grade students. 5th-7th grade students who do not wish to commit to a leader position in the club may still come for the club meetings every other Friday. Participation in this club is a fun way to connect spiritually with friends and focus on God’s Word as the source of truth in our lives.
The way the club works is that there is a group of student leaders (6th-7th grade only) who meet to teach a Bible lesson, provide a skit, game and/or testimony, and worship music for any other 5th-7th grade students who come to the club. This is an opportunity for those who like to be leaders to really shine. It is also a way for students to work together and prepare creative ways to teach a Bible lesson. The model of students leading other students is very effective in building spiritual unity and in making the club a fun place to hang out with friends.
Not every student will want to commit to being a leader and only 6th and 7th grade students may be leaders. This is great because other students who may only want to be club attenders will also benefit from the fellowship, fun and knowledge that being in the club will provide. All students from 5th-7th grades are invited and they are not required to come to each meeting as the leaders are.
