Countless volunteers help create lasting memories at the school’s annual auction,
“Starlight Serenade,” and the over 300 attendees raise about 40 percent of the Annual
Fund in just one weekend!
The 2008 Starlight Serenade produced more money than the school has ever raised
during its 15-year auction history. On Friday, Providence families and friends came
together to enjoy a “carnival-like” atmosphere, complete with concessions, games,
moonwalk, and karaoke.
Saturday night was a special time for “adults-only” to enjoy a catered sit-down
dinner by the Blue Rooster Café, served by an attentive wait staff, courtesy of
the high school’s NHS students. Dave Julian, a long-time friend of Providence, entertained
attendees on the baby grand piano, and the excitement of the auctioneers, Bill Russell
and Brooks Coleman, during the live auction portion of the night also added to the
entertainment.
Both Friday and Saturday nights had nearly 1,200 items up for bid,
with lots of items the whole family could enjoy. There was definitely something
for everyone during this fun event. Thanks to everyone for your support!
