Welcome to the new school year. It was a pleasure to meet new High School parents
and see old friends at the Parent Night last Thursday. One item discussed at Parent
Night was the importance of the Annual Fund and our new goal for this school year.
As in past years, the goal has been to raise more than the minimum goal of $350,000.
This $350,000 figure covers only the operational expenses for our school. With the
additional funds collected each year, the school can continue to update our educational
programs, expand and fund special projects, and make positive changes to our campus
that will impact our children.
The goal this year is two-fold because we need to continue to exceed the budgeted
total and to dramatically increase the number of families that donate. Approximately
50% of Providence families consistently donate to the Annual Fund. Our goal this
year is to make that 100%. To apply for grants or funds from foundations, we must
increase this participation. A foundation's main focus is on the percentage of parents
that have donated to the school. The higher the percentage, the better the prospect
of obtaining funds from these donors.
As parents of Providence, we are dedicated to reaching these goals. We are committed
to contributing and ask you to join us. We recognize that each family’s financial
situation is unique, and prayerfully ask that you consider the dollar amounts appropriate
for your family. The school will still need the support of the large donors that
have helped us meet our past goals, but it is now left to all of us to reach our
100% participation target. We need the gifts of those who have never participated
before. A $1, $5, or $10 may seem like an insignificant amount to many, but every
dollar counts. Every donation, by every family, is viewed as a significant contribution
because it shows foundations and major donors that our parents are 100% committed
to our school.
We are committed to reach 100% participation in the High School. We need your assistance
and are available to answer any questions or discuss any concerns. If you prefer
to speak with someone from the school's administration, you can contact Priss DeWitt,
in the Development Office at 770-279-3922.
We can’t make our goal of 100% participation without YOU! We will keep you posted
on our progress. THANK YOU in advance for your participation.
God bless you,
Eric A. Haglund, Annual Fund Chairman and
Grade Level Team Leaders
